Best Overall Student Of 2025 – Nicole Sino

Every year we recognise and honour one of our students for working hard, attaining the highest possible attendance, and most of all, showing technical skill. It’s a way of celebrating those who consistently give their best in every session. The award has been going since 1993 and has been awarded to some great Welsh Shotokan Karate Organisation Karate-Ka.

2025 year is a very special year for us as we have not given this award out since 2019 so it has be vacant for 5 years
2020-2021 There was no award due to Covid
2022-2024 There was no award as we had moved location from our main Dojo of 30 years (Tonyrefail Leisure Centre) to a more remote location and this had a huge impact on our club and over short period lost a lot of our members… So we had to rebuild

And as this is a very prestigious award we wanted it to go to somebody, who when received it, really felt they had earned it, So we shelved the award until we felt it was time to re award it..

2025 was that time, we have had a fantastic year the club has grown and so have the students, who have trained hard..
Attendance has been at its highest in years with most months having over 10 students with 100% and the rest not far behind.
Dedication during training has also been the best I have seen since back in the early 2000’s

This year’s recipient went to Nicole Sino, this young lady has time and time again proved herself to be one of the finest Karate-ka the Welsh Shotokan Karate Organisation (Bushidō Hombu Dojo) have produced.
Her technical ability is superb and for other young female students joining has been an inspiration.

Nicole has a huge future in karate with the skills to become a great instructor in time 🥋
