Represents Wales at EKF Europeans - Sochi, Russia

On the 31st January 2018 Harry Davies of Swansea Karate Academy and Connor Evans of Ferndale SKS along with 5 other Welsh athletes travelled out to Sochi, Russia to compete in the 45th EKF Junior, Cadet & U21 Championships.

This was a tremendous acheivement/honour for both boys to represent their country at this level. Harry had previously represented Wales last October in the Junior World Championships in Tenerife but this was Connor's first selection.

Both boys competed on Friday 2nd February, first up was Harry who faced a competitor from Belgium. After performing a very well executed Gojushiho Sho he narrowly lost out on a 2-3 flag decision. A great acheivement to have such a close decision. Well done Harry!!!!

Next up was Connor who was drawn against a competitor from Finland. In a tense 0-0 bout Connor progressed to the next round after forcing his competitor off the mat to a disqualification. In the second round he faced a competitor from Armenia but unfortunately lost the fight 0-3.

Both boys were fantastic in their categories and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I am sure there will be many more opportunities in the future!

Well done Harry and Connor - keep up the training!!!!
